Meagan Whitehurst, MSN, CNM
Meagan joins Dallas Midwife Associates with over 10 years experience providing education and respectful care to women and their growing families. Meagan was born in Arkansas and grew up in East Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas-Arlington and began her career in Women’s Services gaining experience in Lactation, Newborn Nursery, Labor & Delivery and Postpartum care. Meagan was drawn to women’s health during the birth of her son and her work supporting women as a labor and delivery nurse. She fell in love with midwifery and began her training working with midwives while living on the Big Island, Hawaii. There she witnessed less intervention leading to safer, healthier births and saw how powerful a fully supported mother can be. In 2015 she returned to Texas to earn her Master of Science in Nursing-Midwifery from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Meagan enjoys working with women to provide education from preconception through childbirth and postpartum as well as gynecology care including well-women visits, birth control consults, sexual health, and other gynecologic concerns.
Her goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment to ensure women know their options and feel respected in their healthcare choices. Meagan enjoys spending time with her clients to learn their desires and health goals. She believes emotional well-being is just as important as physical health and strives to care for body, mind and spirit. Meagan loves traveling and learning. She enjoys live music, yoga, trying new restaurants with friends and spending as much time as possible with her son, Preston.
