Texas Health Harris Methodist also has Level IV maternity and NICU designations and Cook Children’s is connected to THFW by a skybridge. THFW offers the highest level of care for moms and babies. They have 24 hour in house anesthesia and obstetrical services including in-house MFM coverage. THFW is well known in the natural birth and midwifery community for supporting natural birth. The hospital has been voted “Best Place to Have a Baby” in Tarrant county for about 18 years in a row. They have had midwives on staff for more than 20 years with currently 11 midwives credentialed to deliver babies. Harris offers wireless monitoring, hydrotherapy, nitrous oxide, and birthing/peanut balls. Most of the nursing staff at THFW have attended spinning babies and are dedicated in assisting optimal fetal position to facilitate a smoother delivery.

Texas Health Mansfield is the newest facility where we practice. This is a level 1 facility without a NICU with plans to have in house neonatal services by the spring of 2022. This state of the art labor and delivery unit is equipped with new modern labor and delivery beds, birthing pools, massage chairs, wireless monitoring in every room. They also offer nitrous oxide and peanut/birthing balls to assist moms with fetal position abnormalities. The nursing staff are eager to assist patients with their desired birth and they are very hands on with their patients. This facility is as close to a birthing center that you can get and still be in the hospital.

We are the only birthing center in Fort Worth to offer comprehensive Certified Nurse-Midwifery care. At FWBC we believe that birth, pregnancy and the postpartum experience are natural healthy and significant experiences in the life of a woman.

Women who choose to give birth at FWBC receive a special level of personalized attention and care from our certified nurse-midwives and staff.

The birth center is licensed by the Texas Department of Health, accredited by The Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers, a member of the American Association of Birthing Centers, and accepts most forms of health insurance.
