Johanna Congleton

certified nurse-Midwife, doctor of nursing practice.

Johanna Congleton Bodine’s desire to serve women and children began early in life. She received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Texas Tech University in 2007 (Wreck Em’!). After college she was able to compassionately serve women in her role as a labor and delivery nurse at one of the busiest high-risk hospitals in the country. As a nurse she was able to support women during some of their most life-changing moments. It was there she had the opportunity to work alongside Certified Nurse-Midwives in the hospital setting and learned to appreciate a less medicalized birth experience. She was able to take her nursing skills to remote villages along the Amazon River and provide care to the underserved with her church. She was inspired to go back to school and truly achieve the calling of becoming a Nurse-Midwife.

In 2013 Johanna received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Midwifery from Baylor University and has enjoyed serving the women of DFW since entering private practice in 2014.

Johanna believes that every woman deserves a midwife. Her goal is to build trust and ensure women feel heard and respected. As a midwife Johanna collaborates and walks alongside women to support them in their healthcare choices.

Johanna is married to her wonderful husband David and they live in Flower Mound along with their dachshund, Auggie.  Since becoming a midwife, Johanna has become a mom herself. She welcomed her son Oliver in 2017 and most recently her second son Reed in 2018. Both of these boys were born in the hospital setting unmedicated with the support of a great birth team. She wants women to know that birthing in the hospital does not preclude them from having a wonderful birth experience. Johanna loves any opportunity to try new restaurants, go to a Rangers game, or just have a glass of wine with friends.
